Android 4.4.4 + Root for Nexus 5!

Here’s a quick update on Android 4.4.4, which was just released today.  There’s not too much changes other than minor security updates.

I suspect it may have something to do with the latest TowelRoot, which allows easy rooting on Android 4.4.3 through a security hole in Linux kernel.  It could be that this update fixes that but I don’t see any other changes.

I don’t think you need to actually upgrade but if you really want to, just grab the zip file and install with CWM or TWRP.  If you have stock  Android 4.4.3 ROM with root then this will simply update you to Android 4.4.4, no data wipe/factory reset required.

Download SuperSU (if you somehow lose root, just flash this in CWM/TWRP to get it back, although I didn’t have to)

This update brought the problem with the application mm-qcamera-daemon. It’s draining my battery like crazy. I have to go back to 4.4.3.
    Thanks anyway!

I updated my rooted 4.4.3 via the OTA update, to 4.4.4, as usual, i lost root and CWM recovery! I have the image for recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.5-hammerhead as given in your video for how to root the nexus 5 to begin with, but after upgrading to 4.4.4, when i try to flash in the custom recovery, it gives this message in the command prompt: and does not progress!!

It doesn’t seem to flash CWM, please help me!! How do i flash CWM again?:(
